Handmade Earthenware Primitive Oil Lamp
Handmade Earthenware Primitive Oil Lamp
from $35.00
Presenting the oil lamps! These were thrown into existence from our kick wheel. Handles were made to fit, then these lamps were fired to bisque, repeated with a final glaze firing. A simple replaceable jute wick is run through the wick holders in order to allow the lamps to use their oil fuel. Refill the reservoir with any cooking oil, and once filled and lit, these lamps are fit to remain lit for up to 8 hours, varying slightly depending on size of each individual lamp. Avoid placing in highly drafty areas as this could blow out the flame.
Our oil lamps are inspired from historic oil lamp designs. We feature a 14th century style and a roman style design.
These lamps are great to use for any desired low light setting. Lamps vary in size but are generally between 4-5" wide by 2-3" tall.
